Well, I've enjoyed reading other peoples stories as they travelled on their own trips of a lifetime and I wanted to do the same - so hope you enjoy the trip as I try and share through my eyes!

Saturday

Neil's Stag weekend - Saturday night - The Lowenbrau (Part 1)

The Lowenbrau....

Part 1 huh - Bet you can't wait for part 2.... but the best thing is that I've no idea what i'll write about that so come with me and leave your herd behind and behold the PART 1 first!

A a starter for ten, the boys had started to come up trumps with ideas for Neil's stag do dares - I can't reveal which ones he completed (unless you read part 2 - heh heh - I'm forming ideas now!!) And to add to the intrigue, I've made it REALLY hard to read what Neil was dared by cleverly turning the picture on its side - cunning huh?!

Firstly, before we get in, we get a 'talking to' from one of the Bar Staff - the lads reliably inform me that this 'hasn't ever happened before...' so it must be for my benefit, especially as the Bar lad tells us that they don't trust the Brits. Bless, us Brits are among some of the most reserved, easy going, tolerant and open-minded people overseas, especially when following football, so I'm slightly puzzled at his remark, but hey, we get a seating plan too... ( we're highlighted in YELLOW - for 'sexual stamina' mayhap or 'diseased' or 'there be Inglish in these here parts'.... but there is an up side - we have a HEN PARTY IN DA HOOSE - so we're all excited really, just trying to look cool and stuff! It's also recommended that we don't drink the beer in the litre Steins.... I mean, C'mon, that's what we're here for right?!

A couple of cheeky 'non-steins' later and everyone has arrived - we're allowed through to the food area - you can see the motley crew here:

L-R: Mark, Moi, Scott, Adrian, Peter, Duane, Peel, Rod and Ben.

The nosh when it arrived was tanfastic and we all got stuck in with gusto, although the beer was flowing so well that I wasn't sure I'd have too much room for the grub!

You can see from Rod and Neil that we were all completely sober and not stuffing our faces like, well, the drunken animals we were I guess! Mind you, the fod was great, lots of pork, bratwurst and other sausages. Didn't enjoy the crap pastry thing we had for starters and didn't get a chance at the Apple Strudel, although Rod and Duane did and they were both ill on Sunday - musta been the dodgy ice-cream boys, right?! Of course, the great thing about the food was that it 'lined the stomach' for more drinking - always a good thing in the Captains book as of course, Duane and Peel had decided they wanted to acelerate the fleet to Attack Speed and were buying variously flavoured Jaegermeisters for us all to consume - so now we see Duane, it really WAS that damned ice-cream huh!

Apparently, one of the German traditions at the ole BierKeller is to hammer nails into a block of wood in competition with a fellow reveller - now, what a great game huh? I guess if there was any UK equivalent, we'd be taking the hammer to each other after a few beers but I didn't think there'd be any such problems here. Now, we were all interested to see how 'The Ginger German' performs here as he could well have some sort of form - I was gonna say we were all rooting for Peel, but as I understand it, 'rooting' in Australia means a different thing - Goddamn, you just can't support anyone these days without people raising eyebrows! Anyway, the guy on the RHS is the Buck from the other stag party, wearing fluffy bunny ears - bless! We get a fun countdown in German, Jimmy would be impressed - we can count 231 backwards in German, so there! Anyway, Neil won with a controlled effort - the other guy went for power and really spooned it - captured it all on video if there are any skills-coaches who need some material to work with!!

And now.... it's onto Part 2.....! Wahey!
