Well, I've enjoyed reading other peoples stories as they travelled on their own trips of a lifetime and I wanted to do the same - so hope you enjoy the trip as I try and share through my eyes!

Wednesday

The week before the wedding that was...

Sunday 2nd April 2006

Phew, that was a heavy weekend on the piss to look back on. Top weekend though and over now until Peel's birthday which is Tuesday 4th. I can feel the tension oozing out of my liver as it realised it had a fighting chance of recovery when it realised there were 3 days rest in this one (Neil's birthday drinks not being until Tuesday!!!). I had to chuckle when I got downstairs and saw Rod and Duane - they were tagging each other into the toilet and vying for the greenest kite - must've been those apple strudels boys hey?! Of course, it was all over about 10 minutes later when I spot Neil drinking a glass of red wine - at 10.30am. My liver was going green and trying to crawl over the table away from me! My turn for the toilet! We ended up that day at the Carlisle Hotel in Camperdown - top quality boozer and though Duane and Rodders weren't boozing, they did pop down. Poor Rodders - he wasn't well at all - the Wife was apparently already home before he had even got to the boozer - WAYTAGO mate!! Well, I must confess that I haven't had such a boozy Sunday in years - in fact, haven't had a boozy Sunday in quite a while, but with the sun shining, it always just seems that bit better! In the end, just Peel, Scott and myself were left - not surprising I guess, but it's always a wacky time with Scott. He tee's up the Jukebox and turns round with a manic gleam.... 'You can't put a song on until you've expalined the reasoning behind choosing it...'! Great game and no, just saying 'Well, I just like it' wasn't good enough!! Great night - got back late....! Drunk....!

Tuesday 4th May 2006

Peel's birthday - normally a cause for celebration but my liver wasn't jumping for joy. That said, I gamely battled through to the evening at the 'Australian Rose' in Erskinville where we were congregating for said knee's-up. The added bonus was that alot of the peeps here for Neil and Trudles wedding were also here, so it was great catching up with Jimmy, Paul, Miche, Danz, Benny et al. Good craic and beers and the only thing missing was Neil and Troods, but they did make it later - bless. The barman, eh Peeg? What an arse!

Wednesday 4th April

No prizes for guessing where I went for my hangover cure on the Wednesday. I was well chuffed with the amount and cheapness of the food - a dozen oysters for 12 bucks, loadsa crab meat, mussels, squid, calamari - cheap cheap cheap and loads of it. Also met Dana's parents and friends, a lovely bunch of people - Danz, whatever went wrong shug?! You can kick Jimmy in my absence! Speaking of which, Jimmy, you hold the dubious honour of being the first of the lads to get a showing in Captains Blog. The aliens were restless and all that!
