Meal and drink-poo's with Neil and Troods

Neil and Troods - bless 'em, wanted to take me out for a meal to say thanks for all the help at the wedding and what not - how cool is that?! Very decent too! And indeed, as Trudles points out, both her and Neily love a good night out too - waytago!!

So, Friday night, off we trot to Australia Square, which isn't a square at all - Neil and Trudi had booked a table at the revolving restaurant at the top of the tower - which revolves and so over the meal you can get a 360 degree view around Sydney - how cool? VERY! Of course, we had to get there first and after getting out of the taxi - Neil claimed he actually hadn't been here before and wasn't even sure if this was it....! Classic Wassell! I know Neil well, but even I couldn't tell if he meant it!!

Well, here we are - finally seated and tucking into our vino! I took loadsa pix of the views - but this is one major complaint about my digital camera - it just won't take the distance and night shots very well - mind you - who the fuck am I? David Bailey?!

You'll have to take my word for it that the views were cooooo-el!! It takes just over 90 minutes for the restaurant to revolve 360 degree's. For the nerds amongst us, the motors are mere 12 hp and the gears are so fine, they costs a million bucks..... and yup - German made!!

We were there for 2, nearly 3 revolutions......!! That's boozh for ya. It was a bit confusing when I got in as I put my jumper on the rail by the side of the table and 20 minutes later, noticed it had gone walkies!! Getting up to walk around the restaurant feeling a bit foolish, the waiter pointed out that this often happens and you find people going home with the wrong jackets when they're pie-eyed and what not!!

The other thing this place can do is the dessert! Look how fancy-dan this chocolate orgy is (or whatever it was called!!). Neil and I sure showed it though.... ;-0).
















These 2 vagabonds are Lisa and Danni, who went with Neil and Troods on a safari tour of South Afrika-ka-ka! And here they are with Troods and Neil.
They hadn't seen Danni since then apparently. It's funny, because I'd met Danni a few times in the past and found her aloof to the point of ignorance. I actually thought she was gay, she was so mono-syllabic to guys. That said, this night she was with an old fuck buddy from way back when and so was all sweetness and light and actually was very charming. It was even the first time I'd seen her laugh!! Maybe it was just me! Of course, I'd told Neil and Troods how I'd found Danni in the past so I looked a right muppet! Never mind, all's well that ends well!!

As for the lemon....? I can't remember - did someone 'liberate' it? One of those things that seemed a great idea at the time! In fact, I think he lemon made it to the Casino with us all where it won 100 bucks on the roulette - or was that Neil and Troods? I won some dosh too, so everyone retired happy! Only wierd thing was that the texas hold 'em poker had a queuing system on the go which was taking 2-3 hours - even at 2am!! There you go, whoever said the Aussies don't have a gambling problem?! Have to say, btw, that the Casino was very impressive - I'm expecting big things from Bris-Vegas!!
