Well, I've enjoyed reading other peoples stories as they travelled on their own trips of a lifetime and I wanted to do the same - so hope you enjoy the trip as I try and share through my eyes!

Wednesday

Ben and Bianca - Wedding Ceremony

Yet another beautiful day – the bus arrives on time to collect us, although there were some grumblings about picking us up from the digs rather than Nathan and I walking down to the entrance – I mean, in suits? In this weather? With this hangover?! Mind you, that said, there was a no show from Dan and Bex – ‘oh dear’ we’re thinking, they’ve overslept! I offer to walk up and see if they’re there – which they’re not! Off we go then! I’m sweating, btw!! We get somewhere and the bus starts going offroad – towards a lake… before pullin round near a lovely housed area with a veranda over-looking a couple of vineyards – well, it’s the Hunter Valley right?! Turns out that Dan and Bex are there, along with everyone else, we’re practically the latest to arrive, with the exception of Geordie and Co’, but as they’re family…!

Sam is there with his guitar, I’m told that he wrote the song himself. It’s very beautiful though, as we get to hear it on a false start thinking that Biance is on her way! She’s certainly taking the chix prerogative and keeping poor Ben waiting – He looks like he’s very cool, calm and collected! Probably savouring these last minutes of bachelorhood! When B does arrive, she looks great, simple white dress and the style, to my un-fashion-educated eye looks almost colonial, as does the best girl’s outfit. I’m told that it’s a 1940’s style, but I wouldn’t know!

The coolest thing about this service though is that Ben and Bianca have written their own vows for each other. It took me back to Neil and Troods wedding and got me thinking again, but no drama’s this time (mate!). Ben told me afterwards that he’d struggled for months trying to find the right words for the vows, but when he sat down, really sat down and asked himself what he loved about Bianca, the words just came out easily! I bet! After a pretty short service, we were able to get into the Champers (wippee!) and I had a good long natter with Bianca’s Dad, Ken. What a funny guy, which turns out to be hilarious at his speech. Duane, about on a par with yours mate, it was THAT good!

A coupla of the guests! Neil and Trudles. Bless.

Two good looking lads!!
